We felt it to be a perfect fit for the YOLO Board Seaside Celebration.”
Founded in 2008, The South Walton Fire District Junior Lifeguard Program is a five week long summer program where children ages nine to 15 learn the principles of weather and water conditions, rescue techniques, beach safety systems, sun health and nutrition in an active, fun-filled team environment. Under the Supervision of South Walton Fire District Beach Safety Director Gary Wise and South Walton Fire District Professional Lifeguards, juniors participate in relay-style drills, learn paddling techniques and get to experience what it is like to be a lifeguard. After completion of the program, juniors are also eligible to compete in regional and national lifeguard competitions through the United States Lifesaving Association.
Popular local musical group HERITAGE (www.heritageband.com) returns to the celebration for a free concert in the Seaside Amphitheatre from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
