Kaenon Polarized's SUP for a Pup Event Raises More Than $8,000 For Local Animal Rescue Foundation

GirlDogPaddlesMay 7th, 2010—Kaenon Polarized is pleased to announce the total funds raised for Orange County-based animal rescue A Wish For Animals exceeded $8,000. A number of dogs and families were also matched up, and even more adoptions are still pending.  Hundreds of shoppers and and animal lovers descended upon Kaenon headquarters last Saturday for a day of taking advantage of great deals for a good cause. Vendors included Kaenon Polarized, Olukai, Surftech, Quickblade Hinano, and Wahoo’s. The vendors also all donated goods to the cause, generating even more funds for the rescue. The grand prize drawing winner was Paige Pederson of Huntington Beach who walked away with a 11’ Surftech Laird stand up paddleboard worth $1440.

Chris Wyman, Kaenon’s Sports Marketing Director and creator of SUP for a Pup stated, “Once again we hit a home run with this event. I am always impressed by how much support people will show for animals in need if just given half a chance. This year we completed a few less adoptions, but we increased the total amount of funds raised for A Wish for Animals. We also had several new foster families step up and offer transitional homes for adoptable dogs, which helps AWFA allocate more resources to their dogs currently in rescue. Overall, we were thrilled with this event and we are already looking forward to next year.”

Toni Eakes, the founder of A Wish For Animals said of SUP for a Pup, “We thought this year’s event went great. We found homes for some of our adoptable dogs, and having more foster families come on board helps us out immensely. This event also helps further raise awareness not only about A Wish For Animals, but for all dogs in need of rescue. On behalf of all the dogs and AWFA, we want to thank all the companies, volunteers and supporters for making this event happen!”
