underDOG

A better way to float your best friend!

With 90% of the buoyancy in the water under the chest area, the new underDOG life jacket supports the natural swim angle position of a dog. The traditional cape style dog vest rides on top of the back, pulling the hind quarters up in a horizontal position in the water. Because of the way a dog is shaped, this means that the head rides close to the water line. By moving the flotation under the body, buoyancy is shifted to chest, allowing the hind quarters to sink in the water. The dog’s instinctive swim motion is allowed to be more effective. And the neck is released to so that the head can ride higher above the water line in a more relaxed position.  Built in the same factory that makes our USCG life jackets for people, the underDOG features a split form body and durable Nylon and Cordura fabric. Generous reflective trim highlights the collar, full side and top of the vest – areas that are exposed in the water, and shows up against car headlights in the parking lot of the take out. The reinforced carry handles will support the full weight of a wet animal. The carry handle in the collar doubles as a leash attachment point. 4 adjustments points, and cool mesh ventilation across the back and adjustable mesh bridge between collar and body.  The underDOG is PATENT PENDING.
