TJ jumps into the Clark Fork
After a 22 hour drive and a stop over in Salt Lake City and Indian Falls, we arrived in Missoula on thursday night. The next morning we woke up to a couple inches of snow on the ground and 20 degree temperatures. So Bryce and I brought our friend Timmy Bascom to the Clark Fork River for a river run.

We started at noon about 6 miles up river in East Missoula, where we jumped off a bridge with our SUPs to enter the water. This was by far the coldest day we have ever experienced. There was snow on the ground, ice in the river, and our hair even froze when we took it out the the water. But then we hit the rapids and our adrenaline took over and we instantly forgot about the cold. It took us 4 hours to run the river, because we stopped at different areas to play on standing waves and repeat rapid runs. When we finally got to our car that was parked downtown, we all jumped in to race home and take a long hot shower. While we were inriver2 Missoula our friends introduced us to KB and Luke, 2 professional white water kayakers, who own Strongwater: Surf Shop for the Mountains. While we were hanging out with them they were telling us about a river run about 45 miles out of town called the Alberton Gorge. But they said we had to wait until the weather got better. So 4 days later when it stopped raining and snowing we headed on out… Thanks to our friends Evan, Cheyne, Timmy, Jason, Bret, Katie, and Amanda for the hospitality.
